How to use oxygen regulator safely

The oxygen regulator is the pressure-reducing device of the cylinder gas. When the import pressure and export flow change, to ensure that its export pressure remains stable. The rise in low-pressure meter readings may indicate potential hazards and pitfalls.

1.Slowly open the regulator valve

When the oxygen cylinder is deflated or the oxygen regulator is opened, the speed must be slowed down. If the valve opening speed is too fast, the temperature of the working part of the oxygen regulator is greatly increased due to the adiabatic compression, which may cause the parts made of organic materials to burn, and the oxygen regulator can be completely burned out.

In addition, due to the discharge of too fast electrostatic spark and pressure reducer has oil and so on, can also cause ignition and burn out the pressure reducer parts.

2.Precautions before and when opening the gas cylinder valve

Before installing the medical regulator, open the valve of the gas cylinder slightly to blow off the dirt to prevent dust and moisture from entering the medical gas regulator.

When the cylinder valve is opened, the gas outlet of the cylinder valve must not be aimed at the operator or others to prevent the high-pressure gas from bursting out and hurting people. The exhaust port of the pressure reducer and the gas rubber pipe joint must be tightened with the wire or clamp that has been degassed.

3.Precautions for loading and unloading of the oxygen regulator

During the loading and unloading of the oxygen regulator, care must be taken to prevent the threaded joints of the pipe joints from slipping, so as to prevent the screws from being thrown out of position.

During the working process, the pressure value of the working pressure gauge must be observed. When stopping the work, first loosen the pressure regulator screw of the pressure reducer, then close the oxygen cylinder valve, and slowly exhaust the gas in the pressure reducer. In this way, the spring and the pressure reduction valve can be protected from damage. After the work is completed, remove the oxygen regulator from the cylinder and save it properly.

4.Regular inspection and repair

The oxygen regulator must be regularly repaired and the pressure gauge must be inspected periodically. This is done to ensure the reliability of the pressure regulator and the accuracy of the pressure gauge readings. In use, if there is a leak in the oxygen regulator and the pressure gauge is not working properly, it should be repaired in time.
